How can help straighten your teeth.
Invisalign orthodontic treatment is an alternative to traditional braces. Dr. Dodds has been treating orthodontic cases for nearly 10 years and has made the switch from traditional braces to the clear plastic trays, called Invisalign. While not all cases are suitable for this type of treatment, many that are prefer Invisalign because of three main factors: less discomfort or pain, they’re removable, and they are virtually invisible.
Traditional braces involve placing brackets on the teeth and attaching wires to them. Often this leads to a great deal of pain inside the cheeks and lips. Because Invisalign is a system of clear plastic trays, you will not experience any rubbing or abrasions in your mouth. I think the greatest advantage, however, is that you can remove them while you eat so you can enjoy all your regular meals and snacks (like corn on the cob, popcorn, toffee, if you must!) and then brush and floss afterwards. Aside from eating and cleaning your teeth, however, you do need to be wearing the retainers at all times in order for the system to work in a timely manner.
The cost for Invisalign is similar to traditional orthodontic fees and can be broken up into monthly payments after one initial down payment. Insurance coverage does not vary between the type of treatment. More severe cases may respond better to traditional orthodontic treatment and those options would be discussed at a consultation with Dr. Dodds.
